The Richemer wine cellars began with the fusion of both the cooperative winery in Agde and Marseillan, gathering 450 wine-makers and maintaining the tradition of being the first port in the Thau Basin. The latter is renowned for its white wines – perfect with oysters - and its rosés - ideal when relaxing on a terrace. They all owe their name to a legend, Henri Richet, a Marseillan wine-maker who apparently became very rich from the sea borne wine trade, especially with the vermouth. Henri de Richemer very soon became an adopted name.
Donkerrood.
